Attending our training sessions is not a matter of a 'tick box exercise'.

The programmes have been carefully designed from a trauma-informed lens and survivor focused. The contents are practical with real case studies. The sessions are interactive and transformative.

Domestic Abuse Foundation Training


Course Description:


This foundation training is essential for all professionals who work in sectors where domestic abuse may be disclosed, private and public organisations, adult students, graduates and individuals who are interested in learning the fundamentals of domestic abuse, those who have not had any professional, instructor-led domestic abuse training and those who need a refresher on the subject.



Learning Objectives:


On completion of the course, learners will: 


  • Gain deeper knowledge of the various types of domestic abuse and the links between the different forms of domestic abuse including coercive control, honour-based abuse, stalking and harassment, non-fatal strangulation and non-fatal suffocation.
  • Learn how to recognise the signs and risk factors.
  • Identify perpetrators' behaviours and motivations.
  • Explore the effects of domestic abuse on adult, children and families.
  • Be aware of the legal provisions in England and Wales.
  • Develop confidence to respond effectively and support a victim-survivor.
  • Have knowledge of local and national support services and how to make referrals.

Coercive and Controlling Behaviour


Course Description:


This course explores the dynamics of coercive and controlling behaviour in intimate and family relationships, cultural dynamics,  perpetrators' behavioural tactics, effects on adult and children victims, recognising the signs, legal provisions, strategies to responding effectively and referral pathways.

Learning Objectives:


On completion of the course, learners will: 


  • Be aware of the concept of coercive and controlling behaviour within the context of domestic abuse.
  • Recognise the tactics and behaviours perpetrators use. 
  • Identify risk factors, warning signs and barriers to seeking help.
  • Explore best practices for intervention, safeguarding and reporting.

Post-Separation Abuse


Course Description:


Professional training on the dynamics of post-separation abuse.

Learning Objectives:


On completion of the course, learners will:

  • Be able to recognise the challenges survivors face post-separation.

Domestic Abuse Trauma


Course Description:


This course explores the physiological and neurological impact of domestic abuse trauma. It examines how trauma affects brain function, cognitive processing, and behaviour. The course integrates neuroscience, psychology, and trauma-informed care to provide a comprehensive understanding of domestic abuse victim-survivors' experiences and responses.

Learning Objectives:


On completion of the course, learners will: 


  • Be aware of how domestic abuse trauma affects the brain structure and influences victim-survivor's emotional regulation, memory, and decision-making capacity.
  • Be able to recognise the links between various types of domestic abuse and behavioural responses to domestic abuse trauma.
  •  Examine the intersection of domestic abuse trauma and systemic barriers to effective support.
  • Identify appropriate intervention and support services.
  • Design action plans for improved service delivery and outcomes for clients/service users.

Trauma-Informed Family Court Support


Course Description:


Professional training on how to support domestic abuse survivors or narcissistic abuse survivors who are going through the family courts in private law cases. Legislation and processes are based on the legal provisions in the United Kingdom.



Learning Objectives:


On completion of the course, learners will: 


  • Be aware of the legal process involved in child contact/custody  proceedings
  • Be aware of some of the legal provisions relating to Child Arrangement Orders (CAO) and protection orders
  • Learn the subtle manipulative tactics abusers use in the family court and how to support their clients/service users to overcome them
  • Be aware of some their client's cultural challenges and how to support them to overcome those barriers
  • Learn how to support their clients or service-users to structure their court position statements, gather evidence and present court bundles
  • Learn how to communicate effectively with other agencies and solicitors
  • Be aware of available support services


Who should enrol?


This course is suitable for non-legal professionals who work with domestic abuse survivors going through the family courts in private law cases.

Train-The-Trainer: Trauma-Informed  Trainer and Facilitator


Course Description:


This comprehensive cohort based, Train-the-Trainer programme is designed to equip professionals and aspiring trainers and facilitators to deliver emotive sensitive subject areas such as domestic abuse, sexual abuse, mental health and wellbeing related training courses, presentations and workshops, in a trauma-informed and empathic manner.

Learning Objectives:


The course is designed to build the trainer's confidence and competence to deliver related topics either virtually or face-to-face to a diverse group of frontline and non-frontline professionals in various sectors.


By the end of the programme, participants will be able to: 


  • Integrate trauma-informed principles into training design and delivery.
  • Lead learning environments that foster safety, trust and engagement. 
  • Build effective communication and facilitation skills.
  • Develop and prepare appropriate resources to support learning.

Course Duration: 6 Weeks


Course Structure: Blended learning


6-week instructor-led, blended learning programme which combines online learning, in-person sessions, collaborative design and live session delivery to enhance learning.


The programme has been intentionally structured to build confidence, competence and credibility as a trauma-informed trainer and facilitator.


Week 1: Online session, 4 Hours

Week 2:  In-Person, 6 Hours

Week 3 - 5: Online Sessions, 4 Hours each

Week 6: In-Person Session, 6 hours


In final week 6 session, participants will deliver their first training session, feedback provided, celebrations and certificates of attendance.


A central location for the in-person sessions in Week 2 and Week 6 will be determined.

The Dynamics of Narcissistic Abuse


Course Description: 


2-day intensive training on narcissistic abuse trauma.


Learning Objectives:


On completion of the course, learners will: 


  • Gain deeper knowledge of the dynamics of narcissistic abuse
  • Be aware of perpetractor's tactics
  • Identify perpetrator's motivations including some cultural, traditional and religious beliefs 
  • Be aware of the effects of narcissistic abuse trauma in familial relationships
  • Be aware of risk factors and ways to mitigate them
  • Best practices and referral pathways

Who should enrol?


This course is suitable for professionals who work with families affected by domestic abuse or narcissistic abuse, Therapists, Life Coaches, Social Workers, Housing officers, refuge or outreach workers, volunteers, carers, pastoral carers, religious leaders, religious relationship counsellors, religious therapists, Human resources personnels, managers and team leads in business organisations, family mediators and individuals with keen interest in the subject matter.
